You can sell bitcoin for exactly what it is worth immediately unlike that piece of shit table you think is worth something at your grandma's house. No one cares what you think something is worth. There is an infrastructure in place to pinpoint the current value of bitcoin and trade it for US dollars. Your opinion of its future utility or value is irrelevant to that fact.

best thing that's come out of the 'worlds' obsession with bitcoin is the blockchain technology.
when a reputable financial institute takes up the technology and uses it as method for people to transfer funds world wide then it will be something to take note of. for now it's a scammy, risky, purchase for anyone that was not there at the beginning or willing to try ride a wave of buying low and selling when it spikes ( if it spikes ). all those poor sods like Jibken that bought in when it was 20,000usd per bitcoin and are now PRAYING it gets back up to that level JUST TO CHECK OUT AND 0 NET GAIN 5 years later.

if you look at the date this thread was started and look at the price of BTC at that date. I jumped in around 2900 per coin. its now 13,000 per coin. you do the math if im successful for not.

The argument that BTC is a bad investment is one thing but the complete denial that it has worth today is low IQ. It might not have worth tomorrow but today the market says otherwise.

We've seen this story with the penny stocks in the Wolf of Wall Street. It is all about creating perceived value, generating income through transactions and commissions, and not giving a fuck about the people that will eventually end up empty-handed after the bubble pops. I'm sure the technology has value, but people aren't buying the technology, so this means nothing currently.
