Russia has never had a legitimate election. May be shocking, but Putin doesn’t actually have 90 percent support. Russia is also not liked in any Ukrainian region, hence carbombs killing occupation mayors and governors

That’s the best outcome. The worst is this mobilization works, he takes Odessa and we have to decide whether we support Ukraine for the next 100 years

I suppose a tactical nuke is actually worst case, but still. I don’t like Russia escalating. It isn’t like Ukraine is even clearly winning at this point

Russia still thinks it's the USSR, in terms of might.

They may have massive amounts of gear from back in the Soviet days, but all that stuff has to be maintained, and it's also old and out of date. A ton of their transport trucks were suffering from dry rot tires because I guess the officers were too busy selling off ammo and gasoline to maintain the vehicles.

That classic Soviet corrupt mindset permeates everywhere.

They have a larger population and they have nukes. But everything else is working against them.

Maybe if Putin announced a full mobilization and declared war, turning the country into a war economy...maybe it would make a difference.

But this partial mobilization will probably fail.

Putin is potentially in deep shit right now. He better have the best damned personal security on the planet because you know people are plotting to assassinate him right now, both people close to him and people that stand to lose it all because of him.

Lets not forget that we had people falling off airplanes and lost 13 soldiers and killed 9 kids during an "evacuation" so maybe war is just stupid.

LOTS of money has been made in the last 6 months though, so it's not for "some".
