gm events on live for velious launch

title says it all, asking out there to any real old schoolers who played when velious actually dropped, was there any sort of gm event leading up to or on launch day itself? i know the kunark storyline somewhat followed firiona vie being kidnapped by iksars etc and some gm events following this. have always been curious.

only gm events i really recall is that one where they give that good wiz staff away.

Neither is creating 2 VP keyed zerg guilds who refuse to compete outside of the welfare tier but people seem to like it.

It was on half the classic servers... So, we've done the 1 half with no rotation. Now the new half will be with rotation.

You make it sound like I support that. I've tried merging the top 2 guilds for a year now; once successfully and then about a year later not-so-successfully.

I'd rather see a single guild dominating all the content, eliminating any possibility for welfare pixels.
