Scribing spells to book was always fast if I recall right. It was memorizing them which took long, especially if the spell is closer to your level.
This is just recollection which is hazy from 20 years ago though! Dury Necro! | ||

It definitely should be slow to scribe, but as it is, it's hardly game breaking (or having any incidence on the game really).
Apparently it's a client-side thing, Haynar tried to hack something about it but gave up in order to avoid wasting valuable reverse engineering grey-matter-hours on marginal yet difficult stuff. | ||
