What you need to realize is ... they don't necessarily care about players. They're making a museum piece, not a game that's meant to be fun. If you find it fun, great, but that's a side effect.

Disregard all of this, there is nothing to install anymore. Now we can all go back to playing ORIGINAL MUDs and some of us will go back to Second Life (tm) and Runescape 1.0!

No because the entire impetus for the project is the idea that classic eq *is* fun and is worth preserving.

Also the installation process is not hard at all it's fine and it never stopped the server from growing from a pop of about 150 to about 2k. OP get gud.

Yeah I totally disagree about the staff not caring about the players. They obviously do, and to make the project work you NEED a community of some number.

But there has been a sense of entitlement that has been growing the last 5 or 6 years amongst the playerbase, and is reaching an all time high this year. Scary times.
