Smile Everyone should be mining Ethereum even if they poor.

Right now you can buy pre-built computers with GPUs in them for almost the exact same price as just the GPU.

Even if you can't afford $1,299 for a new computer, you can literally get it on credit and the amount of Ethereum you will mine each month will easily cover your monthly payment for the computer. Just some food for thought.

I personally got lucky because I'm a nerd and already had a 2080, a couple 1080 TIs, and a couple of 1660s, so when I discovered mining I already had a pretty good hash-rate, but this is a good starting point for someone who has never mined before and lacks the hardware to do so.

I actually ordered one of these myself and it will be here on Monday. I wouldn't recommend this if I thought it was dangerous.

You know what's crazy is, we haven't even noticed a difference on our electric bills since we started mining. I think it's because we live in a small rural town because I've had friends complain about the fact that their power bill stays the same even when they're out of town for a month. Apparently they just guesstimate how much power people should be using or something rather than sending someone out to read meters?

But for the most part, the cards I'm using are also super efficient. Those wal-mart computers that have 1660s in them... well those 1660s can easily get 31 mh/s for 70 watts which isn't bad at all. The ones I'm looking to retire are my 1080s. More watts than a 3060 for about half the hash rate.... youch, lol. Like maybe 2 more mh/s than a 1660, for over twice the watts. Still profitable, but I'd like to get rid of them in the near future.

U think it's a good investment for stimulus? I'd rather spend mine on a gym membership.

So your Ethereal Dreams are predicated on the power company NEVER reconciling the meters?

Outdoor to save on power costs. Technically, you should have already germinated the seeds in mid-february and planted in the native soil early this month, but its not too late to build your black market empire, if you're willing to sell for a lesser price than an Oregonian native.
