Default Diseased Based Slows

I'm just trying to clear up some confusion within my guild.

These aren't till Luclin right? Insidious Decay and Scent of Terris will not help a slow land on P99 correct?

Pretty sure slows are magic based....I think?

Although the Shaman slows do mention a Disease counter, so maybe they are Disease based.

I'm 99.9% sure all slows are dependent on a MR check, and not a DR check. People in my guild think some of the slows will be helped by lower a mobs DR which I don't believe is true at all at least for the timeline P99 is on.

I tend to agree.

It's just odd that it mentions a Disease Counter on the wiki

I think you can actually cure some slows? Maybe ones that have disease counters? I feel like that was a thing.. but cant remember now.

This has been asked before: https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...d.php?t=129163

That thread was closed with this as the final answer:

Interesting, that thread links the April 2002 eq patch notes saying:

Quote:
Casters of slow spells recently given a disease component (such as Shiftless Deeds and Turgur's Insects) should no longer attract undue attention to themselves.
One plausible cause for the "undue attention" would be disease counters being high aggro -- which they were on p99 until the latest patch, but are not anymore.

Yea Rip has a good point, trident is cold base slow. I know the Wavecrasher was rumored as cold for a long time but it’s magic.

Spine Break via rogue poisons is poison based.

My only thought on disease counters was to make life horrible for Shaman. Without the counters it was probably easier to cast with less pacing. I wonder post-patch how it’s been affected since SK disease cloud seems it lost a lot of aggro.
