We cant keep preventing people from obtaining fishing licenses or make it unprofitable to train new fisherman. Sure, we can sell more people fish that way. But were creating a whole lot of wasted human capital in the process.

Yeah, the bar for entry into creating a new business is way too high. Needs to be deregulated and a lot of excessive red tape and bureaucracy needs to be eliminated.
The tiny home movement (a minimalist eco-friendly sustainable movement) is, largely, being stymied by government regulations, especially in heavy-majority Democrat states along the west coast, because the builds are not permanently hooked up to public utilities where they can pilfer the builders for permits, inspections, and other misc fees they've built into it.
Building new homes in California is very difficult to obtain the permits for, on top of being fairly cost-prohibitive. The price of the inspections throughout the pre-construction process generally exceeds the cost of materials used to build said project. It's pretty bad when you left government decide how, and how much it costs to go to work for yourself.
