Official Speedrun Thread

Nothing will top the tetris speedrun with the invisible bricks from a couple years ago. Blew my mind.

I enjoy speedruns that break the game. The somewhat recent Super Mario World speedruns where you can reprogram the memory by doing certain things at certain positions so when you crash the game a certain way it doesn't hardlock the game but just runs the ending.

My absolute favorite is A Boy and his Blob.

He makes a manhole to drop into the ending title cards, runs past it to the last boss room minus the boss, reloads it so the boss spawns to make the ending title cards actually trigger, and drops through the world again into actual memory space back to the ending.

There is also a Castlevania 2 speedruns that does the same thing where the runner climbs stairs in memory space until he gets to the last boss skipping a good 80% of the levels

i love this stuff too. there's a SotN run where you manipulate inventory a particular way, use a library card, and the ending plays. I can't find the video right now.
