Default I started playing through Quake 1 again

Because it's still to this day one of the best shooters out there.

I noticed on the second stage of the first sequence of levels (when you first encounter water) they use the exact same sound loop of frogs/ insects as you hear in the Feerrott.

You can hear it clearly at about :18 into this video

Thought that was kinda interesting

A lot of EQ sound effects were unlicensed effects used in Hollywood and many games.

To this day I still hear the spell casting effects used.

it's possible sum 1 made that as an audio file for v.g.sfx and u can buy it and wot not, or it's like the Wilhelm Scream of Toad Forests

Funnilly enough - there's a scene in Wes Anderson's famous train movie, 3 Brothers on a Train Their Dad Is Fucking Deaddo Kid (((Darjeeling Limited))) right before this clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1j8l...tgMPL1ritSSptz

A guy is walking down the train tracks along the broken down train. A foley effect was used to imitate the sound of someone tapping on the metal railway. I shit you not, it's the same sound effect used for mining a vein of ore in WoW. if you have access to the movie, cheque it oot.

Yep stock sound package a famous Hollywood company sold to like 1000 SFX studios.

All long considered abandoned IP. The company realized there was no money in trying to enforce SFX when a 1 millihertz pitch change makes the piracy legal.

Yep, I still have the original disk I got on release day. I play through at least once a year, doesn't take long. I also like Q3, though I have Live installed atm.
Best level = The Ogre Citadel
Best song = Parallel Dimensions
