As for my previous report of 6k arrests, the current is 50000 now "suspended or detained". Prolly mostly arrested. "On Tuesday, authorities shut down media outlets deemed to be supportive of the cleric and said 15,000 people had been suspended from the education ministry along with 100 intelligence officials. A further 492 people were removed from duty at the Religious Affairs Directorate, 257 at the prime minister's office and 300 at the energy ministry." https://www.yahoo.com/news/turkey-wi...-finance.html? Not that we are in a full blown police state, just a full blown surveillance state, that part comes first. All those "conspiracy theorists" not so crazy now after years of claiming the state is spying on us, eh? Well, at least not so funny after Snowden. Looks like Turkey was keeping it's lists, too.

The moment you thought the situation couldn't ACCELERATE in deteriorating... The Turkish government has declared a state of emergency, to last three months from now (unless it is prolonged), giving the normally representative function of the president the opportunity to rule by decrees.
This is really, really, really bad. I really hope the US are going to get their nukes out of the country as fucking fast as possible. | ||
