Its been a long, long time. (few questions)
Well, I decided to try Project1999 because of its reputation. I haven't played Everquest since I was 10 years old. Even then, I didn't really do much in it because Ultima Online consumed my life at that time. However, I'm looking for an old school MMORPG and I figured why not play the one that started it all.
Right now, all I'm doing is outside of Qeynos killing bats and skeletons. I'm not entirely sure what I should be doing and I kind of like that. Can I ruin my character in this game by not making the right decisions early on? (stats and such) Is there another place I should be leveling at early on? Things I should be doing? Any general tips for a new player? Thanks a bunch guys! | ||

Basically, what the game is about is killing monsters. Quests, despite the name, are not such a big focus; most of the quests in the game are not worth doing (unless you just want to learn about lore and such). I wouldn't say you can ruin your character per se, although misallocating starting stats can be a little annoying in the long term, and it is possible to ruin your faction with important NPCs (although not so much in the early levels). Once you hit level 5 or so, check out Blackburrow - newbie dungeon near Qeynos, fairly popular, you should be able to find groups and such. There are also some very nice newbie quests in the Qeynos area (despite what I said earlier), if you are not an evil character: gnoll fangs, rabid bear pelts, broken staff quest, bandit sashes, greater lightstones. Qeynos is actually kind of unusual in that it has a lot of really good quests for characters in the 1-15ish level range.

Actually you can do Blackburrow at 4 if you are careful!
Plenty of good beginners quests in Qeynos area if you are a non-evil class such as: * Mail run between Surefall and Qenos Bard guild * Gnoll fang hand in quest * Rabid grizzly skin hand in quest * Rabid wolf skin hand in quest What class are you? | ||
