I'm into bird stuff....

But seriously. I spend a lot of time near oceans, and sea birds are shit machines.

This time I was just walking down a crowded street in Istanbul. A few blocks off the water. Other times were on navy bases (they're infested with seagulls), a beach in Japan, and on a boat in Thailand. So yeah, water.

A fancy drunk pirate? I don't if i could live in a place that doesn't have access to the ocean. Spent childhood in California with frequent trips to Pismo and Morrow Bay, then moved to the Seattle area for a while, then lived near the beach in Japan for a few years, and now in the Netherlands. Looking at buying a small boat soon to putt around the canals.

In other good news, I bought this Turkish rug to hang on the wall and make my zoom background more interesting. Nothing super crazy, these things get fuuucking expensive. But i really like the color. Probably cuz it reminds of the ocean lol.

I felt like i was smuggling drugs bringing it back to my hotel. Look at how they wrapped this shit up. Gave me the duffle bag and everything.

Is Satan in Istanbul? I thought he was in hell banging Sadam Hussein.

Alls I know is I stumbled across a burrito place here that has the best California burrito i've had in 10 years of being an expat. And that's coming from someone who grew up in California.

mmmmmmmmm

Crap. I hope they still allow burritos.

I've had nothing but good experiences here so far. Today, after I bought my rug, i mentioned that I was hungry and asked for a restaurant recommendation. They insisted that I come back to their house a block over where I ate a home cooked meal with the whole family. Here's the view from their roof -

Istanbul is the most beautiful city on earth.

But satan is there doing bad things.

That family will be subjugated I hate to say it but give them a big hug.
