Error: String not found (8053) now even whilst skilling up
I posted before the latest patch, some time ago, about a message when maxxed tailoring something to the effect of Error: String not found (xxxx); I am now skilling up blacksmithing and am getting a similar message even before maxxed blacksmithing. The error message comes after every combine, whether or not there is a skill up or success / failure on the combine.

Oh, did they not fix that with the new patch?
As far as I was aware, that message "Error: String not found (8053)" shows up in place of the "You have fashioned the items together to create something new!" message. It doesn't actually affect your success rate or your Skill up rate, it literally is just a missing string in your EQ files. Luckily, it was actually really easy for me to fix. https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...ht=8053&page=5 Check out the last three posts on this topic and that should fix it for you! Just remember not to edit with Notepad! I hope this helps! EDIT: OH, and I almost forgot. If you are doing a Combine with an item that is returned to you (a Pie Tin when baking, or a File when smithing, for example) even if you fail the Combine the "8053" message / "success" message will still show up because you have technically still received an item from the combine (even though it's your original Tin or File or whatever). Not sure how to fix that issue.

Thank you =). Not only was it not fixed in this latest patch, but now the string not found message shows up in every combine, successful or not, max skill or not. Before the patch I only encountered the message at max skill.

I've had that problem since v46. It's one of those paper cut kind of bugs.
Easy enough to fix yourself. (You can put a funny message in there when you do, it only shows to you.) | ||
