Default $ What I learned from this RMT ban wave... $

There's a LOT of cash to be made selling EQ plat.

You can see why those "services" are out there. If the average user spent $30 that's $13200 made (assuming 440 bans). Adjust that around, defend that most people probably spent less... that's still a sizeable chunk for what is essentially make believe money.

When the server has enough mudflation so it doesn't even matter that these people got popped. There are thousands more copies of fake pixels out there to be sold. The platinum prices on these items will skyrocket for legit players for the short term, therefore trickling into the pockets of the RMT Gods again.

440 account bans doesn't really equate into 440 players, anyone that has touched a banned account with the same IP could have had their account banned that weren't even partaking in the RMT (such as myself) so it's probably considerably less (maybe even half) if you remember that, and in the scheme of things, thats not really that much, i mean when was the last ban? I been on here for about 6 months and havn't seen a round happen, so $13k a year for a alot of blood sweat and tears pharming that plat, i would choose a different profession...

Emotionally handicapped nerds who live in a cheap apartment with no prospect of girlfriends and children...13k a year to play a video game aint bad business.

hahaha fair call mate, but i am greatful that even though my account was banned, if it's lost in the great cull to stop RMT then so be it, someone with a dirty IP would have had to touch it for it to happen, so i guess it's my fault for not being careful

Yup all under the table funds. Don't even have to claim it on the tax returns.
