Connections drop but still in game

Been having this strange issue where I'll be in the middle of the game, nothing wrong on client end, still get client-only feedback, but the in-game action completely stops. I can do things like sit, stand, open a spellbook, choose a spell to memorize... but nothing requiring the server side responds. It remains this way until I /ex out (camp doesn't work).

If I then restart the program I can get right back in (after the 1-min sync). If I waited in-game in the "suspended" state described above for that period of time, I won't need to wait for sync, it already clearly dropped me.

Nothing about my network connection appears to be disrupted when this happens.

Anyone experience this and have a solution?
