Coolest cleric in game is certainly human Karana, god of storms and the open sky. Even a ginger cleric can be (very) slightly cool, if he's a human follower of Karana. Just don't waste your pixels on a crummy haffer and you're good.

Speaking of silly ideologies that I probably wouldn't pick, I don't understand how clerics of hate or love work. They seem like such vacuous concepts to follow and even if they weren't they are so "all in" that they seem nonsensical for someone to worship or serve these gods. At least Mith is level headed conceptually.

Also, I was curious about the backstory on some of these dieties so I actually made a cleric to hail and see dialog on different guilds, and I came to the realization that most cleric guilds, in fact a lot of guilds for other classes are filled to the brim with bumbling idiots who are narrow minded or blind to obvious problems that they have to face.

I swear, the arcane science guild in FP and maybe the tower of the spurned in neriak are the only groups who aren't morons for the most part.

Back to rodcet, his followers especially are nonsensical. Two of them literally threaten to murder you when you hail them as a new potential cleric serving the prime healer and being all about that sweet alien.

An odd west coast human cleric would be Bertoxx. They got interesting jewerly based on black sapphire and good fashion with cultural armor. They are evil also. Not entirely sure if they start in Qeynos even tho Bertoxx is clearly a western god. But a ginger cleric worshiping the king of disease and rotten flesh would call for something different and probably fun. Rodcet Nife might do for a boring narrow minded cleric and Karana for a more redneck kinda healer i dont know, just thoughts
All very good posts. Hail Karana & Bertoxxulous
(I might be slightly biased because I 1st played EQ on the Karana server?)

Besides the Karanites being more secure in their faith and devotion to the Norrathian Zeus, there are massive plains and their residents named in favor of the Stormlord.
While Karana does resemble Zeus (the original depiction to a lesser extent), the name itself likely comes from Antahkarana, a Sanskrit word in Hinduism which refers to a communication "bridge" between the middle mind and higher mind or, in more common terms, the personality and the soul. Which is interesting when one considers that the largest, most recognizable features of the Karanas are its bridges. And the Antahkarana symbol itself represents ancient healing and meditation and has the appearance of a storm system. So as a cleric, the deity ties in quite well, though arguably better for a druid or even a monk.

As for Rodcet Nife, the name is also an anagram for "rodent fice", with "fice" being a variant of "feist" meaning "mongrel" or "dog". It's a bit of a stretch and makes little sense considering the Prime Healer takes on the form of a fish, but then the entire Qeynos area is teeming with gnolls and rats.

It was at this point I decided to no longer be kind to the casuals as they have extreme short term memory. They did this to themselves, unfortunately.

As a Rodcet Nife worshiper, you can even meet Rodcet Nife itself. Just killing the fishies underneath the floating spaceship you spawned out of. I'm sure Rodcet Nife will be pleased to meet a follower of its cause.
