Default Lag starting with most recent patch

If you're getting ridiculously low framerate after the latest patch, try removing/renaming your eqclient.ini file. I had the same issue and while trying to figure out the cause, renaming the file got rid of the lag, and then putting the file back still had no lag. I suspect it may have to do with the texture caching in the game. Either way, try this and let us know.

Does the client recreate with a new EQclient.ini if you delete/rename?

Then boot up, exit and rename the old back?

Just add the text "old" to it or something. Doesn't matter, as long as a new one is written.

I also had no improvement with this method, the problem seems to be stemming from Dynamic Lighting no longer being able to be disabled. Why was this done and can it please be reversed, it drastically decreases game play for me.

There is a low-perf dynamic light mode coming in a future patch that will be usable by people who are seeing issues. Performance problems are not widespread, and they aren't considered game-breaking, so we didn't try to cram them into the day-1 green patch. Apologies to people who are having issues, and I hope we can get a resolution for you soon.

Dynamic lighting being enabled is non-negotiable because of the fixed classic nighttime darkness.

Playing on an older machine with an integrated graphics card, I've always had *some* issues with groups of people over 100, etc.

But now with this 52 patch, I am getting like 1-2 fps any time there are more than just a handful of players around. This is with spell effects off, minimum possible clip plane, etc.

I've been trying everything I can think of with my eqclient.ini file, none of it seems to help. it's basically consuming the entire cpu core that it's running on, and even slowing down the whole rest of my system.

Bad screen tearing like never before on P99 suddenly, most notably when around a large amount of people with light sources.
