I don't think Rogean and friends releasing the code would be the best move. That will lead to a situation where we have lots of servers that are "P1999 but with...!" Thus, the very limited classic EQ Emu playerbase would be too divided.

If I was serious about wanting to use P99 code, I'd approach Rogean with money and a willingness to agree to his terms (not mine). And I'd probably email him privately instead of trying to pressure him with a public forum demand.

Ultra-rare drops kept people playing instead of flooding the server with BIS gear one month after Kunark was released. I did what was best for a box with ~300 players instead of 2000.

No one is trying to pressure Rogean, which is impossible because the guy doesn't care. I just opened the thread to see if anyone knew if the guy had any plans or what his thoughts were. If the answer is he doesn't plan on doing anything that is acceptable, and what I think most people expect.
