The fictitious "end of history" argument -- where democratic capitalism is proven to be the best system that everyone must adopt because its proven to be the best. This is a modernist belief.

In reality -- neo-liberalism is has proven to be destabilizing to countries and socialism is in demand. In the long run, communist governed China might prove most capable of projecting power abroad -- replacing America. Despite all the disadvantages China has in this cut-throat global competition for supremacy.

This is what we call counter-factuals. Facts the run in the face of the modernist end of history theory.
