Ever wonder what genera doesnt exist because some guy in 1960 stepped off the curb too early and died instead of inventing it?

Like would fantasy exist if tolken didnt? Or would we all be playing toga greco quest?

Is there some kind of amazing fantasy/scifi/horror genera that we could be immersed in that we cant even imagine just waiting to be discovered?

I often wonder this.

the entire fantasy genre would definitely, absolutely be unrecognizable without Tolkein.

basically everything we play is based on dungeons and dragons which is based on Tolkein and other fantasy lore.

Plus it's magic. It probably requires balancing or something..since sauromon is stronger Gandalf gets bigger spells, around orcs tho that are more ugly than strong he just has showy moves.

Kat Williams made a joke about this back in the mid 2000s. You remember don't you? when that minor fuel crisis hit and gas jumped to $4 per gallon briefly. Couldn't turn on the TV without seeing a Prius commercial.

Im not even accounting for fuel

64% of america living paycheck to maycheck means one thing

financial crash

if you want to be like, "it was like this before"

then all I have to say is 2008

we wont bail out the country this time

the crash is coming

the end is nigh
