Default Splurt duration

According to the wiki, Splurt should last 17 ticks (1m42s) but only lasts 15 ticks for me. It also says it should do 1819 damage, but when I cast it on a mob that the wiki says has 1800ish hit points, it has like 20% left when Splurt runs out. Is the wiki incorrect or is there something wrong with the spell?

Don't some duration spells gain an extra tick or two as you level up / based on server tick timing? Wiki usually lists max damage.

Only for lower level spells really, and the wiki points out when it's the case. For a spell like Splurt in particular, it makes no sense at all to add more ticks as you level up. The last two ticks make up like 25% of the spell's total damage.

Find a shaman with his epic. Use splurt first on a mob with like 2k health. Fd and note it’s percentage. Then have the shaman use his epic and see what it ends at on the same mob. If equal then splurt is definitely bugged. I can help you later with this on my shaman if you’d like.

I'm not sure whats causing the discrepancy but never take the wiki as 100% gospel, it was imported data that P99 players have worked on over the years to be more accurate to P99.

Things like mob health aren't an easy one to convince everyone to run a parser for and adjust the data manually - treat it like a ballpark figure.

Could, as others have said, be a disparity in the wiki - this holds especially true to mobs around the 40th level, as the step up from a lvl 39mobs hp to a lvl 41 mobs hp can be thousands of hit points and the wiki may just have the median hp amount for that particular mob.

To give you a sense of how off some of the HP values are/were... the level 45 dorfs in BB had values of ~4300. My parser has them closer to 5900.

*Note: I haven't gone through and fixed all of them yet. The guards at the docks are the old values, while the guards at the huts have the newer values and I'm still not done with the level 40 guards. And I actually haven't even been able to confirm those levels [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].
