I think that is an issue for the Brexit thread, and one we have already covered. You know I've already argued to you that as simple as 'the people voted for Brexit and politicians said nope'. Rather than rehash those arguments here I suggest you reread that thread.
People in the UK are pretty sympathetic to the police a d actually want their numbers increased, which supports my argument that a tyrannical government will use the media to influence the people and get them on board.
The UK has had the same government for 9 years now. They and the media are heavily intertwined. They originally got into power by scapegoating the previous government for being responsible for the banking crisis (and not, you know, the global recession ...) and they remain in power by scapegoating all of their governments failures on to Europe or their predecessors / their opposition. People buy into it.
Parliament is disolved now, but I guarantee you there will be more of the same after the election. The media is instrumental in supporting governments (tyrannical or not) and who am I to cause civil unrest over the results of a democratic vote? That wouldn't be democratic.
