Did you require assistance getting started with Project 1999?

only issue I had was with game when it launched. I had to download "eq cpu fixed" or wineq to be able to play the game.

Not sure if forum votes would give you the best results. Seems like people who sit around on forums tend to be more computer savy. I had to help 4 of my friends getting it going even my brother.

Didn't have issues installing. Did have some wtf moments trying to connect though. I'm usually connected through a VPN and didn't realize that the IP must have been blocked or something.

I'm not super tech-savvy, but I figured out the installation. After that, though, I was unable to log in due to some technical issues on my end. That's where I had to seek help from forums/friends.

Anyway, after putting EQ into compatability mode and running it as an administrator my issues went away.

Getting the client installed and updating it via the "Getting Started" instructions thread worked fine. Including tossing in the Velious UI and enabling it within the game.

My problem stemmed from attempting to play the game on a stock Win 7 home premium OS with a decent Nvidia card. Constant crashing, movement rate wackiness, etc. It wasn't until I had spent over an hour researching the issue and understanding it was a CPU speed issue.

Meanwhile, the game worked without adjustment at all on a Win XP SP3 OS machine. Which of course makes sense.

I think a lot of players using modern windows OS of 7 or higher could really, really use additional instructions and links in getting the client to work for them the very first time they log into the game.

Tbh I am self taught when it comes to PCs, and once I got through getting titanium via a certain torrent site that gave me a few viruses, fixed those and from there it was easy step by step following instructions, the hardest part is obtaining Titanium.
