Ping Issues
I've never had ping issues before, but I recently bought a new laptop and there is a weird ping/latency issue that I can't figure out how to fix. When I first log in, my ping will be in the range of 30 to 35 ms, and then as I stay logged into the game, it slowly drifts up over time. After an hour or two it will be in the 300 to 400 ms range. This happens regardless of if I stay in the same zone, or change zones. Logging out of EQgame and back in resets my ping to 30 ms.
Any ideas of how to fix this or what could be causing it? | ||

So interestingly, making EQ launch in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3) fixed the issue.
Here's how to do that on Windows 11: Log out EQ Search in your EQ folder for eqgame >Right click > select Compatibility tab > select run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 3) > click OK Restart EQ | ||
