Do what i did. Talk a person down on a 92 civic with 212k miles from 1500 to 1000. Ive had the car for 3 years now and have only needed to replace the gas pump which i did myself. then you have 14k to spend on some good bud and enjoy mooching off your parents while you can [You must be logged in to view images. hi should have clarified a few things.

buying used- new cars are for idiots and rich asians
i want a 4 door
i value comfort more than performance
its not my money so the "SPEND LESS AND SAVE THE REST" comments are n/a

Best advice in the thread by far, but I'd avoid 212k miles.

Find a good deal on a reliable model with 70k-90k miles.

Never buy a new car unless you really don't give a shit about value, or you're one of those people where part of your identity is wrapped up in the car you drive. Spend that money on real property if you don't own any yet.
