Hmm, I've tried everything suggested here and I'm still getting the error message. I've updated the wrapper and engine. I've replaced the eqclient.ini with a barebones one and followed all other instructions, just can't seem to get it working.

Got it working to the point of getting to the character screen, but it throws an error every time.

When I click the Project 1999 app the title bar comes up at the top of the screen, then it just kinda sits there doing nothing and needs to be forced quit. Not sure what is going on.

I can now confirm this works on my hackintosh as well

3570k
16gb 1600
660ti

mouse look still has the 90 degree issue, which makes playing a bard impossible lol

gamma is still somewhat jacked, too [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

This works perfect on my mac....As a matter of fact I was running this in boot camp and all the errors I had in bootcamp this fixed. no more laggy slow motion, and the graphics are more crisp!

On a side note, some of they keyboard functions dont work, such as the F keys and the num pad.

Strafe does not work with control either... is there a way to fix this or remap?

13 years of everyquest key layout is going to be a hard habit to break.

Default Update Wrapper

Can someone please explain how to update the wrapper and the engine? I tried to follow the post but the wine-skin still says it is version 2.5

Thanks

Got it working now, the wrapper can be updated via the advanced settings and tools.

Up before today, I have never touched wine, wineskin, winery, or any other type of "wine" program.

That being said, I have carefully read and followed the instructions on Phobus' post and the Project1999 program seems to not want to open. I checked the eqclient.ini file and it definitely doesn't have the .txt extension. Other than winery/wineskin, do I have to download some other type of wine program?

EDIT- Updating Wineskin did the trick.
