Always been a fan of the "be careful how deep down the rabbit hole you go" style of dungeon. Look at Sol A > Sol B or UGuk > LGuk. Even Unrest and MM to a lesser extent.
(Fresh EQLive perspective circa 1999, not sweaty P99 perspective, below) -
Sure, a group of high teens can stomp around the ent of each and act like they have balls of brass. Go straight through the gate in Sol A, rather than hang left, or god forbid zone into Sol B and bumrush the kobolds when you don't know what's coming - that'll check your ego real quick.
Guk was a little harder to fuck with before the prescribed levels, as it took a bit of a trek to get to the extremely dangerous LGuk mobs and typically was out of reach from idiots playing god at ent. Same with MM, til your high 20s dumbass fell into the grave in the GY and ran around looking for a way out. RIP.
Unrest? You let some ghoul root you in the Round Room and run upstairs and you're already running out the door to the zone line, letting everybody know what you did and profusely apologizing for the XP you're about to cost some poor 14 wizard just tryna slay a beetle out front.
That's the kind of shit that made dungeons on Live fun. That's that kind of rush that brought us to P99 in the first place.
