I suggested Riot sell the next white scale we got to drop for the guild bank when someone was offering to buy one for 1 million plat and got universal condemnation. It would take an extreme situation that probably includes someone burning bridges with a top raiding guild before you see one of these being sold.

Okay, I get it already, getting your hands on White/Green scales are the Elf Sim equivalent of winning the Powerball in real life. You guys have made your point, cut me at least a little slack for thinking that being able to get one outside of a top raiding guild was feasible. My heart is already torn in two for thinking I could ever dare to have a Singing Short Sword on Blue, no more knife twisting.

I just started playing a Bard on Red. Given the low population there and far less competition, I'd like to dream that maybe, just MAYBE, completing the Bard Epic is realistically possible there.

But then you won't have anyone to flaunt it to.

It's more for the personal satisfaction of completing a classes long, annoying pain in the ass quest chain that takes them across all corners of Norrath. And in a Bard's case, for being able to truly beef up whatever guild I run with 1.8x on Singing and Dance of the Blade.

You can certainly get a Singing Short Sword on blue. A bard gets one probably every month or so, maybe more often than that. You just need to join one of top 4 or 5 raiding guilds that are able to kill vox & gore.

It doesn't buff mana song and that's all you will be good for. Hope that helps.

Am I gonna get laughed at for saying Bard contributes far, far more for a group than just being a walking Claritybot?

Bards in groups are fantastic. Besides bringing the obvious haste, hp/mana regen and resist songs they can pull, mez, charm and slow…hell they can even tank a bit if they have to. In raids most bards without epic will be just playing mana song but epic bards will usually be in dps groups twisting resists, regen and haste/atk on top of epic procs.

Then I probably won't want to play one. I don't want to play a class who has an epic I have no realistic chance of ever completing outside of a top 5 guild.
