Tune litterally beat you guys into submission, that you had to get a bunch of shitters together to make your own server lol
One of the funniest tropes on this forum is the claim that people who no longer play red99 as we approach year TEN of the forever velious locked server are “quitters” who somehow “lost”.

For some perspective, ten years into eq live they were on expansion #17, House of Thule. The vast majority of us here quit EQ live sometime around GoD, which was year four of EQ. But yet here people are approaching year ten of the same server which will never have new content again. Let that sink in a bit. I can’t speak for everyone, but I know for myself when I came here it was to experience some nostalgia and try out EQ PvP; it wasn’t to raid ToV and Trakannon for fifty years until I die of heart failure or Trump kills me while nuking a hurricane.

You may be having reading comprehension issues. My issue was with the comment that somehow people who played here did all the content and had fun and then moved on like normal human beings "lost" by choosing to not continue to do the same content ad infinitum.

If you moved on, you wouldnt be here. Server is fine and thriving. There was 60+ people on last night and almost 100 the other day.

Move on man.

The biggest blow to the server was the removal of the original XP bonus, busting it from 270 nightly down to sub-100, and then the inability to trade between red/blue - blue/red, preventing people who wanted to start with a few bought items from doing so.

While the current XP bonus was put in, we never saw the near 300 numbers again. Red Dawn really had some momentum going at the time.
This was really the final blow that fucked up the server. After that i was done, because i had no faith in where sirken was taking the server and no comm from devs so it seemed like he was ghetto steering the boat. This thing about Rogean and Co "owes you nothing" works both ways. The server isnt owed players either, if you keep making bad decisions after bad decisions, seem like you dont give a shit about players experience on the server, the players realise you are actively making the server worse and doing nothing would have been better, youre going to have a dead server.

To be fair i dont really give a shit anymore, so if the 100 people clinging to their pixels want to get it, shrug. Albion is just too fun, i dont have time for anything else. Its basically the golden age atm kinda like when burning crusade came out with the roads of avalon.
