"Retard" is just the right tool for the job sometimes. I'd never call an actual mentally handicapped person a retard, because like all things context is vital and I have no desire to be cruel to anyone.
Also I really dont see much overt racism or "hate speech" anywhere on this forum, it's more likely that people's personal definitions of those terms has expanded to the point that nearly anything could fall into those categories. For example I personally think it is unspeakably wrong to put kids on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, which carry life long risks that they can't possibly understand or consent to. That seems like a perfectly common sense opinion to me, but is considered hate speech in certain western countries. | ||
