Default shadow knight and slam

is it really that vital to playing a pvp shadow knight that you would take troll or ogre just to have slam for pvp? or do humans and dark elfs do just as well?

the question is, are you comfortable switching gears to use a shield mid fight?

On a note, the SK Epic allows you to bash as a smaller race with a 2-handed weapon equipped.

Couple Examples below:
It's vital
You roll a Ogre/Troll and bash a caster that's gating. Woot! Caster is stunned, GG EXP!
You roll a DE and can't switch gear out on time. Dammit! Caster gates, group is dead.

Doesn't matter
You roll a Ogre/troll and bash a caster that's gating. Miss! Guess it didn't matter? [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
You roll a DE and switch out to your shield quickly and easily. SLAM! (Rock Bottom) IT DOESN'T MATTER! (because you smell what the rock is cooking)

Most SK I see fighting casters use Mace and Shield. I don't think it's that big a deal. Currently slam isn't even interrupting gating casters, and you should be popping HT anyways at that point.
