Default Immersion and camera view

I hate playing playing zoomed out or 3rd person type view. Ruins the immersion for me. Some classes though it seems to be almost required. Like zooming out to see around corners to lull or maybe for crowd control. I think that’s why I loved my rogue back in live. Never needed that. Which classes do you think wild never need to leave 1st person view? And yes I spend way too much time thinking about this stuff...🤓

Maybe easier to say which classes require it?

Yeah I can see warrior for sure. No need to leave 1st person.

Side note: love the role play there. I’ve never seen Full Metal Alchemist but after reading the fandom King Bradley bio I definitely will.

Every class needs 3rd person if you play in 16:9.

Switch to 3:4 and suddenly first person is usable again.

Hmm. How will this help? Will definitely try that El Hefe. I’ve been in 16:9.

16:9 was implemented by chopping the top and bottom of the viewport off. Basically shrinking your FOV to the point of being a severe disadvantage to anyone playing in first person.

I change camera perspectives constantly while playing depending on the situation. Running through a tight dungeon is first person. Fighting in open you need to zoom way out so you don’t get surprised by roomers. Kiting or root dotting requires 3rd person so you can watch mob while you run. Etc etc. camera key is bound right next to movement keys.

Shamans get a spell that zooms out their FOV, making first-person usable in 16:9. Can't remember the name of it, but you buy it from a gyspy in Oasis of Marr.
