I wonder if any of you apply this logic to our country droning the shit out of people all over the world. Russia was nothing. Now they are the one country able to stand against us militarily. Only the power authoritarian collectivism could have fought back against western imperialism when it comes to China as well. That is the only mechanism by which they may surpass us in power.

My point is not that we shoul;d copy the worst of these totalitarian goverment's policies or strategies. Merely to be aware of their power and not ignorant enough to think "freedom" will always win out in an arms race.
