what happened to being able to use the same patches for green and blue?

I need to make sure all my mules don't get deleted. I wasn't supposed to have a different install/files for green. What is going on? it says I need to replace files if I want to play on blue now. wth?

The latest patch files are not compatible with blue.

BEst to have 2 directories and 2 shortcuts.

Get the 50d files for blue @ https://www.project1999.com/files/P99Files50d.zip

and 50f for green @ https://www.project1999.com/files/P99Files50f.zip

So how do you have two directories? Is it as simple as right click the file and launcher and create another one?
