Default Original boats?

Does anyone else remember the ships that travel between Butcherblock and Freeport being different? I seem to recall them being of a different design, with multiple decks and a different sail. You could even go inside the ship, or climb up onto the upper deck at the rear to watch the waves go by. Is there a reason why that ship design isn't being used? I definintely remember them visually glitching out after Luclin was launched, and eventually being replaced by porting NPCs. Perhaps that's why.

Anyway, just curious if anyone knows the answer. Or remembers the same ships that I do.

The actual boat itself seems to be the same one I remember, but I only played EQ specifically in classic in the timeline we are. I've never even seen the plane of knowledge, for example [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The route is of coure different here, but everyone can see that exact change on the wiki.

The boat itself though.. it feels normal to me.

I believe the BBM to FP boat to be correct. It's smaller than the Kunark one so it can fit at the FP docks haha. The Kunark ship from BBM is HUGE however. I always wished they had merchants on that ship like a real ferry. Maybe things a little cheaper because it's duty free [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The boat is very wrong. They instead used a moving version of the scenery boat docked outside of Butcherblock harbor. The real boat looked completely different.

Original boat you could go inside the lower deck and up much higher onto the back deck. 3 sails. And this amazing music. https://youtu.be/TSNXH5nBRU0

The p99 boat makes you float on it, which I don't remember back in the day.

Yeah, that's another mod they had to do so people didn't clip through their hacked boat.

They couldn't get the old boat to work at all on EQEmu, this is a compromise (as is the levi effect).

the last dragon I have left to chase is the sub deck of the boat and that sweet sweet music, and not levitating.
