He rode the 9/11 train to the bank, and can't think of another thing to do politically, my guess. The NBC guy called it on the meme factor tho'. I get trying to sow some mistrust for what Trump may have to do (he's not going to give testimony to Mueller), but your dementia angle might be a thing; or his ego is screeching in the back of his head to save his ass and reputation while he tries to save a party face. Manafort's proly going to prison for the rest of his life, and this could just be a distraction run. I'm gonna be a damn near dead lush by November at this rate of hilarity tho'. More beers. It's like a Nick Cave song now.

If the evidence was overwhelming, the jury wouldn't be in deliberation for so long. They even needed a fresh definition of 'reasonable doubt'.

Yikes.

I think Manafort is guilty of something but it looks like the prosecution didn't build a strong case.

The country is going to lose its shit if they come back with a not guilty.
