Default What happened to my sound

I can't figure out what happened to my sound. On this windows 10 computer, I have noticed that my sound seems to come and go. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Can't seem to figure out why. Anyone else have this problem?

Probably something to do with recent Windows 10 updates messing with sound drivers - right click your sound icon in the taskbar, select Playback devices, right click any device and make sure Show Disabled Devices is checked, then find your appropriate device and make sure it's enabled and everything else is disabled. If it was already enabled then try disabling and reenabling it.

Other things to try: windows button + r, type hdwwiz.cpl and press enter, expand Sound, video and game controllers and make sure your sound device is listed, right click your device and select Update driver -> Search automatically for updated driver software.

Thanks. I looked at all of that. Did I mention that it is only the sound with EQ that isn't working. Sound for everything else is working just fine. I just can't figure out why I don't have sound on the game.

Make sure Sound=TRUE in eqclient.ini.

For my Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E, the drivers come with two additional management programs for sound.

Fixed mine by uninstalling them, while leaving just the drivers.

I haven't taken a look at the drivers yet. I have a Dell OptiPlex 7450. Anyway, I did restore all EQ files from a backup. didn't help. I also thought it might be because I have multiple monitors hooked up. Removed and still no sound.
