So this is a raid that otherwise none of us would have the opportunity on getting loot in right? I sincerely don't understand why people are mad.

As a cleric not in the guild do I need to coordinate any aside from meeting up?

I think they should prohibit seal team from rolling on ANYTHING outside of that restricted loot list. Assuming the /random includes them.
