Default Fresh Install Issue

I just installed the game, and when I try to click on create character, or quit or anything, the game goes to windowed mode, and eventually, I get an error that says

ResetDevice () Failed!

Using Windows 7

What do I need to do?

This is weird. If I change the resolution in the OPTIONS before you log in, the game launches fine and all. But I have to change the resolution again once I get into the game. Oh well, at least I'm playing.

There should just be a sticky in the forum at this point that only says 'dont play fullscreen. play windowed and edit the INI to max resolution' cause that solves a lot of issues.
