"I tell people all the time...there is a difference between passion and obsession, and high-performers have an obsession about the topic. They are obsessed about the topic in which they are trying to learn, master, grow into...
Here's how you know the difference between the two: when you're passionate, everybody cheers you on; they're stoked for you. 'Oh you found your passion? Awesome! Follow your passion, live with passion, be passionate' When you're obsessed, they're like 'why you gotta be so crazy?...Why can't you be satisfied? Why do you always gotta get things so perfect? Why do you spend so much time here?' When you're obsessed, people think you're NUTS So it's different. I always tell people that if no one thinks you're crazy, you're not yet operating to the outer limits of your potential"

"You’ve failed again and again and again. The lights are cut off. But you’re still looking at your dream, reviewing it every day...and say to yourself “IT'S NOT OVER UNTIL I WIN”

"If you want a thing bad enough to go out and fight for it,
to work day and night for it, To give up your time, your peace, and your sleep for it If all that you dream and scheme is about it, and life seems useless and worthless without it, And if you'd gladly sweat for it and prep for it and plan for it, and lose all your terror of the opposition for it And if you simply go after that thing that you want, with all of your capacity, strength and sagacity, faith, hope, and confidence and stern pertinacity If neither cold, poverty, famine, nor gout, sickness, nor pain of body and brain, can keep you away from the thing that you want If dogged and grim you beseech and beset it, with the help of God, YOU WILL GET IT!" -- Les Brown

I think it's important to remember everything isn't stacked against you. Like I'll argue about politics and whatever in here, but I would literally invite anyone in these forums into my house if they were in need. I don't wish for the demise of people I strongly disagree with, I put their humanity first. I didn't always think like that, but it's clearly a better path forward. It's easy to get sociopathic online and to forget we are all humans and fundamentally we should all have eachother's backs. Especially cause we're all everquest dorks.
