Seb is pretty good for charmin, get a rogue to let you into crypt and bring some -mr pet gear.

Better drops once you get the hang of it.

Is there any reason a 55-60 DE Necro would want to hold onto "The Dead" faction? Or would it be OK to blow it away by killing Ogres?

The only thing I am aware of that requires The Dead faction is the Reaper of the Dead quest. That said if you want one of these you can usually buy them for ~600 plat in EC.

But I would double check that your epic doesn't require interacting with the Neriak Necro Guild at some point just to be safe.
