If the AoW had 100% undead aggro you want to use a slower 2 hander. Vs most mobs that don't have undead aggro you want to duel wield proccing weapons. Under no circumstances would you ever use a shield with an AC hardcap.

edit: Honestly if he was straight prox aggro you'd better off not swinging ever once you grab aggro and just loading on 2 weapons with max hp.

There is a difference between "Proximity aggro" (Which I prefer to call Proximity Bonus - Extra hate for anyone in Melee range) and "Root Behavior" where a mob would just straight up attack it's closest player target.

yea not for velious but later expansions it looks like they installed AE rampage, not sure of the accuracy.
