The facts of their ineligibility to join NATO and their ineligibility to join the EU seem to imply this.

Life isn’t so black and white. Ukraine isn’t perfect, and neither are we. Ukraines president has done some shitty things, and they are corrupt as all hell. Hunter and Joe both have their greasy little digits all over that country.

But Ukrainians and it’s government are standing up against Russia, and that is admirable. The president could have easily skated to the EU, but instead was willing to put hit nuts in the chopping block.
