ERCOT made maintenance requirements on natural gas and coal plants less stringent under Abbott. They’re all privately owned, ERCOT is just a regulator

Texas is also unique in that we’ve had almost no rules regarding efficiency of AC units and insulation in housing. Everything has been about keeping costs down and, line you, Abbott and others don’t believe in climate change. When growing population meets failing infrastructure meets 115 degree summer meets inefficiency, you have power grid failure
