Default Does Willsapper Energy Sap proc stack with bard slow songs?

Does proc from https://wiki.project1999.com/Willsapper https://wiki.project1999.com/Energy_Sap stack with bard slow song like https://wiki.project1999.com/Angstlich%27s_Assonance?

I'm guessing yes, if proc happens mob will be slowed at 35% from energy sap... but wanted to see if anyone has tested this.

Thanks, friends!

I don't think you need willsapper specifically to test this, unless willsapper's debuff is somehow unique. You simply need to test if bard slow stacks with other slow spells such as Turgur's Insects. I am pretty sure they do not stack, since both are still considered to be spell slow. It is the same concept as spell haste. The only bard haste that stacks with other forms of spell haste is Evaj, because it is specifically V2 haste. Most bard haste spells are not V2 haste, which means the game simply considers them as a haste spell, no different than something like Alacrity. Whichever haste is better will take priority.

Thanks for reply! I'm not so sure it's an open and closed case.

You see the slow proc from https://wiki.project1999.com/Wavecrasher and bard snare/slow song do stack. I'm guessing the higher % slow is on the mob but I haven't / can't parse this myself.

On the flip side, I have tested the snare proc from https://wiki.project1999.com/Tserrina%27s_Whip and bard snare/slow song. They don't stack. I guessing b/c https://wiki.project1999.com/Muscle_Lock_I is just a snare and no damage.

So I think if the song (or proc) has another component they will stack.

Bard slow https://wiki.project1999.com/Angstlich%27s_Assonance has dot and the slow/snare have other effects so the plot thickens.

Does anyone have a MEGA-equipped bard, or friend with willsapper, that they can test out if they stack?

No problem. I am sorry, I misunderstood your question.

You are asking if a bard song with multiple effects (snare + slow) would stack with a pure slow if I understand correctly now.

EDIT: Simplifying my answer. When offensive spells have multiple effects such as snare + slow, it's a little trickier to discern which debuff slot they will take. I believe a snare will generally take the snare debuff slot over other debuff slots, which is why you can stack Willsapper + Snare/Slow song, but you cannot stack a pure snare with snare/slow song. However, I am quite certain the slow percentages would not be cumulative. The game simply uses the highest value. So if the Bard Song slows the mob by 20%, and Willsapper slows the mob by 35%, the mob is still only slowed by 35%, it does not get added together for a total of 55%.

I think snare + damage gets weirder, because I can't remember if the Clinging Darkness line of spells stacks with the druid equivalent snare + damage line. I have not tested that (or payed attention to it) in quite some time. I know you can't stack multiple versions of the Clinging Darkness line of spells, even though you can stack other DoTs like multiple disease DoTs of the same line.

To answer this question, you need to specify what you mean when you say "stack."

If you mean "can an NPC have both debuffs at the same time?" then the answer is yes, but only the highest slow applies.

If you mean "are these effects multiplicative or additive?" then the answer is no.

I think it goes by whether they have the same effect in the same "slot", but I'm niether 100% sure on that nor confident that the wiki is correct on all the slots. I don't have the weapon handy to test.

Selo's Consonant Chain (23): Slot 2 snare; slot 3 slow
Selo's Assonant Strane (54): Slot 1 snare; slot 2 slow
Angstlich's Assonance (60): Slot 1 slow

Energy Sap: Slot 2 slow
Breath of the Sea: Slot 2 slow
Turgur's Insects: Slot 2 slow

Muscle Lock I: Slot 2 snare
Necro's Darkness Line: Slot 2 snare
Ensnare: Slot 2 snare

This predicts:
  • Angstlich's should stack* with all of these other spells (I've never seen it bounce)
  • The 54 snare but not the 23 should stack with Muscle Lock
  • The 23 snare but not the 54 should stack with Turgur's (I've witnessed this; Turgur's overrides the 54) or one of the procs
  • Neither slow proc should stack with eachother or Turgur's
  • The 54 snare but not the 23 should stack with Darkness (IIRC I've witnessed this; 23 snare overrides) or Ensnare
*This post uses "stack" in the "the spells don't overwrite or bounce" sense. I do not believe any slows or snares are additive.
