Every time I see someone smoking on tv I miss the hell out of cigarettes

The way I quit was to keep the monthly cost framed in my mind, and then whenever I had a craving, I taught myself to think about something else entirely. I dunno if that works for others but it worked for me, I quit about six years ago after about fifteen years of a pack per day.
Thankfully, on television, there aren't a lot of extended shots of people smoking like there used to be. There's a lot of smoking on Yellowstone.

I can't imagine being addicted to something you could buy everywhere.
Quitting OxyContin was hard, but it would have been damn near impossible if I could buy it at any random corner store. My only advice is limit yourself around people and places that make it easy to use and if you ever feel cravings, think about all the negative aspects - because people tend to do the opposite. Just like when you miss that exgirlfriend who was really toxic - don't remember the really good head she gave. Remember the fact that she hit you because you forgot to pick up butter on the way home from work.
