Default EQ mac client with p1999?

I have a mac laptop and a windows desktop, and I found that the al'kabor project has a mac client that seems to work fine on my mac.

I also notice that the p1999 server browser lists the al'kabor server. Does anyone know if it's possible to use the same Mac client that the al'kabor project uses on project 1999?

Doesn't work. Install windows via bootcamp for the easiest experience.

Oh yeah, I know that's easiest. But it's more of a curiosity for me. Prefer to not do a dual-boot at this point.

Do you have details on why it doesn't work?

Have you tried Wineskin? I run EQ on a mac via Wineskin with no issues, and it was quite easy to set up. There's a youtube video (linked in the mac instructions) that makes setting it up a snap.

Wine works, but what he is talking about is actually using the everquest mac client.

The EQ Mac client uses a different networking protocol than Titanium. When the EQ Mac client tries to communicate with the server, the server will just see gibberish as far as it is concerned.
