Default Lightsources

items that give light when equipped or in an open bag slot seem to not give any light for me at all. Anyone else experience this or know a solution?

I've got all my shaders turned on; I'm not sure what else I can check. I took a look at my eqclient and it has dynamic lighting set to true.

This might be a technical issue or it might be an ingame thing by design.
What light source are you using or talking about?
I remember, years ago, that when I was using my Shiny Brass Shield as a light source
that (no lie) when I got it wet when I went swimming it would not give me
light again until I took it off and re-equipped it.
I guess it was meant for realism

Wu's gloves for one character, charred guardian shield, stein of moggok on 2 others.

I equipped and un-equipped them many times to no avail.

Try it in a dark dungeon where there are a lot of walls - they are almost useless outdoors. It should be working for everyone. Its also possible that you have another item equipped thats already giving you a lightsource, thus you don't see a difference.

can you see other lightsources in game? my old crappy computer would not show lightsources at all and everything was just a dull flat shade and there was nothing i could do about it evidently.

Yeah other lightsources were working. I got them working now after playing with the options at the login screen and the eqclient.

But before on my monk I was using only wu's gloves as a light source in a bag slot and there was no other light source on the character. Everything was just as dark as being without a personal lightsource whether in a dungeon or outside. Wish I knew more specifically what tripped the fix after all the things I was switching.
