Default Defensive skill-ups via dueling someone with pet?

Hi guys,

So, I have a cleric that has led a squishy life and hasn't had to take many hits over the levels. Thus, his defensive and melee skills are all awful.

Aside from finding the lowest-level mobs that still offer exp and face-tanking them, I wondered if it was possible to level-up skills by dueling someone? Perhaps a shaman wolf pet that still cons "low blue?"

I'm not aware how this works but am very curious. If dueling can result in skill-ups, would the duel have to occur in a PVP area (ie arena)? Or could we just duel in the EC tunnel?

Any thoughts and info are appreciated!

And you'll achieve skill-ups? That's what I'm really after, thanks!

Get a massive train of dblue+. Get them all rounded up with a bard or someone and have cleric toss them a heal and trainer zones. Cast DA right before they all aggro you. Enjoy your maxed defense.

This worked on live if the pet conned light blue. Can't confirm if it works here though.

But to answer OP's question more specifically, maple syrup is obviously delicious on pancakes, but actually best served on meat.

(for people watching at home, the question is: can you get skill ups from pets?)

For anyone who has successfully passed middle school and has learned to read context, OP has a squishy cleric with lackluster defense skills. He thought of pets as the most feasible option to skill up without dying to a mob. I have offered the most efficient, fastest, and easiest way to get to max skill cap, as others have already answered the pet question, not to mention the easiest way to check is just to ask some random shammy in EC tunnel.

Thank you for your non-contribution to this thread.

I haven’t tested it here but on live you could skill up dueling a player and letting their pet beat on you. Depending on your level a Druid bear pet is all around pathetic. If you’re in the range a Druid pet still cons blue or light blue it’ll generally be the safest bet.

Leg’s approach is by far the fastest. It just requires having someone else help do the pull for you. With a sow potion and no caster mobs you can also pretty easily do it yourself. 2 DA spells by level 29. Find an unpopulated area where you can social aggro a large train, hot foot it to a zone line. DA then run oor of melee 14-16 seconds in, hit 2nd da, then zone off the trash and afk for 15 minutes and repeat. 30 total seconds (safely gives you 6 seconds of wiggle safety room) of 75 mobs wailing on you = 2250 mob seconds of stuff to skill up on ... or about 37.5 minutes worth of face tanking. In 30 minutes mostly spent afk (2 cycles with 1 refresh) you get an hr and a quarter worth of skill ups. The most time consuming part is the pulling.
